Cook – Full-time

(Rate of Pay: $22.00/hour)

Southern Frontenac Community Services is a rural based organization focused on working with others in the provision of health and social services that meet the needs of our community.

The Cook will prepare nutritious meals for our senior clientele, taking into consideration special dietary requirements and tight timelines. The Cook will assist in the preparation of large quantities of food to meet the production requirements of the organization. The Cook will use knowledge of commercial kitchens and safe food handling practices to perform duties accordingly.

This is a full-time position (35 hours weekly) ongoing position, based in Sydenham, ON.

Primary Duties:

Working for the Meals on Wheels, Diner’s Club, SALT and Adult Day programs and preparing food for deliveries, based on collaborated menus.
Ensure all food service functions are performed in a safe, healthy and clean kitchen that meets or exceeds KFL&A Public Health Inspection and Safe Food Handling requirements.
Recruit, train, cook with, mentor and inspire a team of volunteers.
Inventory management and ordering of supplies.
Maintain and report program budget and statistics.
Maintain and nurture community partnerships.

Requirements:

Completion of a recognized course in cooking or food services (or combined equivalent of training and experience will be considered).
Safe Food Handling Certification an asset.
Cooking experience (experience with large groups an asset) with demonstrated ability to read and follow recipes.
Willingness to take direction.
Familiar with the use of commercial kitchen equipment and regulations.
Works and adheres to safety policies and procedure guidelines.
Knowledge of nutrition and special dietary requirements for seniors an asset.
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently but also collaboratively with a diverse team.
Demonstrated organization and time management skills and ability to remain calm and respectful under pressure.
Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role which may include standing for extended periods of time and lifting up to 40 lbs.
Own a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license.

Home Help Provider – Casual

($20.60 - $21.50 an hour)

Southern Frontenac Community Services (SFCSC) is a rural based organization focused on working with others in the provision of health and social services that meet the needs of our community. This is a casual position, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., located in Sydenham, ON

Duties:

Work closely with the Client Care Coordinator, to perform household management tasks for seniors and adults living with disabilities enabling them to remain in their homes longer.
Work with client or their representative to ensure understanding of the tasks they are looking to you to provide or support. These may include (but not limited to): cleaning any room of a home, washing floors, windows, dishes, bathrooms, laundry, meal preparation, or errands (e.g. retrieving mail or grocery items).
Complete requested tasks in a thorough and efficient manner, being respectful of the client and the client’s property and sensitive to their level of comfort with you in the home.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience providing house cleaning or household management services to others.
Experience interacting with seniors.
Two positive references.
Must have own transportation.
Commitment to comply with SFCSC confidentiality agreement and values.
Willingness to attend training or meetings as requested.

Respite Care Provider – Casual

($20.60 - $21.50 an hour)

Duties:

Work closely with the Seniors Programs Manager, to assist clients with their ADL’s and IADL’S and/or provide recreational care for seniors and adults living with disabilities enabling them to remain in their homes longer.
Work with client or their representative to ensure an understanding of the responsibilities/tasks they are looking to you to provide or support while in the home.
Complete requested tasks in a thorough and efficient manner, being respectful of the client and the client’s property and sensitive to their level of comfort with you in the home.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Personal Support Worker Diploma or Recreation and Leisure diploma or equivalent from a recognized institution.
Experience providing personal care and household management services to others.
Two positive references.
Must have own transportation.
Commitment to comply with SFCSC confidentiality agreement.
Willingness to attend training or meetings as requested.

Foot Care Service Provider

(Contract - $25/hour)

Southern Frontenac Community Services (“SFCSC”) is a rural based organization focused on working with others in the provision of health and social services that meet the needs of our community.

The Foot Care Provider is a contracted service worker engaged by SFCSC to provide basic foot care services to seniors living in South Frontenac at clinics held by SFCSC on a monthly basis. The Foot Care Provider will provide a basic assessment, treatment and documentation with each appointment.

This is a contract position. Work location is Sydenham, ON.

Primary Duties:

Attend clinics at SFCSC location(s) on the second and fourth Tuesday each month from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, dressed appropriately

Provide foot care services to clients following KFL&A Public Health and IPAC Practice Recommendations
Adhere and support sanitization practices between clients
Perform assessment and determine treatment plan for clients
Provide basic foot care including toenail cutting, callous reduction and application of lotion to each client
Document details of treatment provided, concerns and other relevant information in client file

Successful completion of a recognized Foot Care Certificate program

Successful completion of IPAC Core Competencies
Basic First Aid and CPR is and asset
Willingness to cooperate with any inspections of service
