VISIONSoup

Southern Frontenac Community Services Corporation (SFCSC) would like to thank organizers of the 7th Annual VISIONSoup for their donation of $1,500 in support of our food bank. This volunteer fundraiser is organized by Leslie Reade and Josey Steele. The November 19th  event at the Grace Centre featured 14 varieties of soup, fresh bread and desserts served up in a beautiful take-home ceramic bowl created by local potters, Tim de Rose, Sue Lyon, June Lang, Susan MacRae and Maggie Jean Gray. The soups were donated by local businesses and residents including Mill Street Café, Trios, the Beulows and Sunset Farm. SFCSC’s food bank assists an average of 60 adults and 46 children every month. Clients get access to the food bank once per month and receive a 5-7 day supply of non-perishable items, fresh fruit, vegetables, milk, eggs and bread. Trinity Quilters

SFCSC would like to thank Trinity Quilters for its recent donation of  $1,773 from their Quilt Show raffle in Verona on Oct. 15, 2011. Proceeds from the raffle will go to support our Enhanced Adult Day Program, a program held at the Grace Centre for frail seniors with Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, or other health concerns. Our team of health  professionals provide stimulating programs throughout the day and are available to assist with medications, reduce social isolation and provide much needed respite for families and caregivers. Thank-you for helping us make this important program possible.
