Go | Welcome! Thank you for visiting the new website for Southern Frontenac Community Services Corporation (also known as Rural VISIONS Centre). We offer services to seniors, physically disabled adults and low income families. Most of our services include the areas of rural Kingston and South Frontenac Township (Districts of Storrington, Loughborough and Portland). The Mission of Southern Frontenac Community Services Corporation is to be a community leader in the provision of health support services and social support programs. Announcements Come and celebrate the opening of Grace Community Garden on Sat. May 5th for a special benefit concert by ROCK BOTTOM from 11am-3pm. Click here for details. Pennies 4 Grace: SFCSC is collecting pennies to fund renovations and expansion plans for the Grace Centre. Feel free to bring them to our upcoming Music in the Garden or Flea Market events. Penny jars will also be available at our offices and at participating retailers shortly. Pet Food Donations Needed for the SFCSC Food Bank The VON SMART Program comes to Sydenham in 2012. Click here for details: VISIONSoup Southern Frontenac Community Services Corporation (SFCSC) would like to thank organizers of the 7th Annual VISIONSoup for their donation of $1,500 in support of our food bank. This volunteer fundraiser is organized by Leslie Reade and Josey Steele. The November 19th event at the Grace Centre featured 14 varieties of soup, fresh bread and desserts served up in a beautiful take-home ceramic bowl created by local potters, Tim de Rose, Sue Lyon, June Lang, Susan MacRae and Maggie Jean Gray. The soups were donated by local businesses and residents including Mill Street Café, Trios, the Beulows and Sunset Farm. SFCSC’s food bank assists an average of 60 adults and 46 children every month. Clients get access to the food bank once per month and receive a 5-7 day supply of non-perishable items, fresh fruit, vegetables, milk, eggs and bread. Proceeds from the raffle will go to support our Enhanced Adult Day Program, a program held at the Grace Centre for frail seniors with Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, or other health concerns. Our team of health professionals provide stimulating programs throughout the day and are available to assist with medications, reduce social isolation and provide much needed respite for families and caregivers.
